The Book of Genesis illustrated by R. Crumb

I will never look at the book of Genesis the same way again. I'm reading through R. Crumb's illustrated version and it pretty great. Although I love comics I have always neglected Crumb's work. This might sway me to take a closer look at what he has done. Anyway having his illustrations trip me out, the book of Genesis is many things but Crumb makes it slightly more digestible. Plus it helps reveal how absurd, often cruel, terrifying, and yet sort of funny Genesis really is. My religious friends can't fault it though because it is literally illustrated straight from the passages. The old testament is really that messed up. Anyhow religious or not I recommend picking this up. LINKZ

Massive Attack

I don't know what it is about Portland but when it gets to raining the way it does I find myself listening to Massive Attack a lot. The mood sort of fits. Anyway I'm excited about their new album coming out next month. New track:

Oh and on to music news

I sort of don't pay attention to music news and stuff anymore. You can scroll down a few post to read why. So anyway I'm sort of relegated back to listening to the radio and I must say amongst the sludge there have been a few winners recently that have pumped Natronics and I up.

Christopher Hitchens

Last night I had a good time hearing Christopher Hitchens speak. If for some reason you are an old friend of mine from NC and you are reading this I highly recommend that you pick up some of his books. Anyway dude was witty, sarcastic, and funny.

I Love Music Television

I am an unapologetic lover of music videos and music television and I consider myself lucky to have grown up in the golden years of MTV and VH1. My parents used to block both of the channels on the TV but my sister and I would always add them back as soon as they left the house. It was some of the only times that my sister and I ever really bonded. So here are 5 music videos that I love and for some reason stick out in my mind this morning. There are so many to choose from, these aren't necessarily the best ever...but they are really memorable to me.
